June Meeting: Steven Pinker’s “Decline of Violence”

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 10:14 am

On Monday, June 4th at 7PM the Central Ontario Humanists are pleased to be showing videos on Steven Pinker’s “Decline of Violence” for debate. I accidentally sent an email to this list talking about how the 20th Century is one of the least violent centuries we have on record. That claim generated a lot of debate! Steven Pinker will be talking about his research, compiled in a book I am currently reading, on just this topic. I have two videos under a half hour so we will have room for discussion and debate. We will be accepting food donations for the Grocery Assist Program. We will meet before the meeting for dinner and discussion at 5 PM at Applebee’s in the Bayfield Mall parking lot if you would like to break bread in Humanist company.
